Japanese exchange visit sparks ‘incredible friendships’

March 22, 2019

‘Incredible and long-lasting friendships’ were made at Monmouth Schools recently, during our biennial International Exchange Programme.

Monmouth School for Girls and Monmouth school for Boys welcomed students from Seifu and Seifu Nankai Schools in Osaka Japan, as part of the Programme.

The exchange has been running for over twenty-five years. During the three weeks of their stay, guests took part in bespoke lessons run by teachers across both schools.  They also enjoyed a range of activities and trips to London, Bristol and Oxford, amongst other more local venues.

Pupils are now eagerly awaiting their chance to take part in the exchange in July, when a party of Monmouth Schools students will attend a similar range of school-based activities and trips in Japan.

Speaking about the experience, Mrs Clarke said: ‘Incredible and long lasting friendships are made through this exchange. The next opportunity for students to take part will be in 2021.’
