Inglefield House Sports Day

July 5, 2014

It was ideal conditions this year for sports day; a beautiful summer’s day with a lovely cooling breeze.

Every girl in the school competed in a variety of track and field events, with fierce competition throughout. This was especially evident in the Year 6 100 metre event which resulted in a near photo finish between Sinead and Lowri, with Lowri dipping expertly on the line to win the race and set a new record of 14.96. Sinead went on to equal the record in the long jump. Records were also set by Emily-Rose and Sophie in the Year 6 and Year 5 javelin. Lucy set 2 new records in the Year 6 hurdles and the standing long jump. Maya beat the Year 6 800m record by an amazing 3 seconds. Elena equalled the year 4 standing long jump record and the Year 6 Prosser House and the Year 5 Bagnall Oakeley teams broke the relay records. New events in the speed bounce saw Charly and Maya set new records for Year 5 and Year 4 and an exiting new race, the speed walk saw Holly in Year 6 and Freya in Year 5 set the standard for the future.

All in all it was an amazing day with all girls performing at their best. Mather Jackson House were the overall winners.

Thanks must go to the Friends of HMSG for providing the strawberries and Pimms.
