Monmouth students have been scaling new heights in preparation for the annual Wales Cadet Indoor Climbing Championships.

Fifteen Army and Air Force cadets spent the afternoon at Boulders Climbing Centre in Cardiff working towards team selection.

After some top-tips and superb guidance on technique, the cadets practised on overhanging routes, tested their speed using the auto-belays and took on bouldering challenges which got harder.

Eight cadets will represent Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools’ Combined Cadet Force (CCF) at the national championships on Saturday 26th January.

Having had huge success during the last three years at the national championships, the pressure is on with just one more training session remaining.
