Thirteen cricketers at Monmouth School for Boys have been selected for Wales – and another has been chosen for Gloucestershire – ahead of the new season.
In addition, 33 other schoolboy cricketers have been picked for regional sides, including Cricket Wales East and Herefordshire.
It is an exciting time for Monmouth School for Boys, which has been listed for a third successive year in The Cricketer Schools Guide 2022, which includes the top 100 senior schools for cricket in the UK.
Henry, who is on Glamorgan’s senior academy, is joined in the Wales Under-18 squad by Cian and Hugo.
Year 12 student Owen has been selected for the Gloucestershire Under-18s and has just returned from a pre-season tour to Sri Lanka.
Year 11 students Roahn, Noah, and Arthur have been selected for Wales Under-16s. Year 10 pupil Zac has been picked for Wales Under-15s.
Year 9 pupils Tom and John have been selected in the Wales Under-14s. Year 8 pupils Leo, Olly, Jacob and Thomas have been chosen for the Wales Under-13s.
All county age-group and regional cricketers have been a part of an extensive off-season cricket programme at Monmouth School for Boys that started in November.
The cricket programme has included skills sessions and masterclasses with external coaches, before school and at lunchtime, as well as after-school age-group practises in the Lent term.
