Year 6 Locust DissectionNovember 15th, 2019
At the beginning of the term, the Year 6 girls were asked what they would like to do in their science lessons. They came up with plenty of ideas, some more realistic than others. But a common request was the chance to dissect something. So this week, after practising on origami models, the girls were provided with a wax tray, mounting board, scissors, tweezers and a desert locust. The result? A few initial nerves rapidly replaced by enthusiasm, and a better understanding of the inner workings of one of the world’s most abundant insects.
