The school prides itself on providing a high standard of pastoral care. Working through the tutor system, our staff build a strong relationship with girls in their care. In years 3 and 4, the form tutor teaches the majority of subjects. Progressing to years 5 and 6, each girl is allocated a form tutor who is responsible for overseeing all aspects of her academic and pastoral welfare.
On joining the school, a new pupil will be allocated a buddy, usually an older girl, to provide additional support and help ease into a new routine. The House system provides an important link with the senior school, with regular assemblies. In addition we also have our own senior school prefects with specific responsibilities within Inglefield House.
Personal, Social, Health & Education (PSHE) is taught throughout the school. The curriculum covers such topics as self-esteem, friendship, leadership and citizenship. Many of the topics are discussed through circle time although the subject is very much embedded into the whole school curriculum.
