Triathlon for Tom tops £700 for Cancer Research Wales

July 8, 2019

Students at Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools swam, cycled and ran to raise more than £700 in memory of a caring and considerate 13-year-old boy, who died 12 months ago.

The inaugural Triathlon for Tom involved pupils at Monmouth School for Girls and Monmouth School Girls’ Prep.

The event, which took place on Friday 5th July, was in honour of Tom, a pupil at Monmouth School for Boys, who died from acute myeloid leukaemia.

Since his death, the Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools’ community and his family and friends have raised more than £100,000 for Cancer Research Wales to fund a three-year research programme into acute myeloid leukaemia.

Students and staff enjoyed the triathlon as they came together at Monmouth School for Girls to support a cause so close to their hearts.
