In the year of our lord 2015, long ships adorned with fierce dragons’ heads appeared on the horizon, cutting their way through the river of the Wye. The Vikings had arrived at Inglefield House! The raiding and looting was kept to a bare minimum, however, as we explored everyday life in the Viking times. Cooking, clothing and weaving were all covered and we were horrified to learn just how many uses there were for urine… yuk!

After break we added to our knowledge of Sutton Hoo by learning all about the unusual Viking burials. All of this before we went to war and then endured some Viking medicines – surely more harmful than good! We’ve had an amazing day exploring the sights, sounds and smells of Viking Britain, but I don’t think we’ll mind coming back to the present!
