Tales of Pilgrims PastJuly 3rd, 2015
This week, in between frantic rehearsing for the all-singing, all-dancing ‘Shakespeare Rocks’, Year 4 have been continuing their studies of Geoffrey Chaucer. We met the motley crew of pilgrims last week and are now taking an in depth look at The Nun’s Priest’s Tale. The priest told a comical story about a cockerel, a hen and a fox, set on a medieval farmstead. The girls explored the idea that the moral tale was based on the actual pilgrims and drew storyboards to help them retell the tale in their own way. The girls put together drama pieces to present the story to the rest of the class; these really managed to capture and incorporate the humour our famous writer weaved into his tales.
