Racing through NaNoWriMo

November 18, 2015

National Novel Writing MonthAs you know, November is the official National Novel Writing Month.

We are now two weeks through the competition and some of the writers are feeling the pressure as well as the joy of the event. I caught up with Holly from Year 5 to find out how she was getting on.

“The stress was unbelievable at first because we weren’t used to it, but we worked ourselves into a steady routine of writing and so we are now well on the way to starting our third chapter!”

I myself am a fellow participant and I know how hard it can be to write on top of doing my homework. We asked Holly for any tips and advice that might help her fellow writers.

“Definitely writing on your own is easier. You don’t have to discuss your ideas with other people and agree on things,” she said. Holly also told us that she prefers to write after doing all of her homework; it’s always a good idea to make sure that you have done everything that you need to do before writing so that you can write with a clear mind.

Good luck to anybody who is taking on this challenge!
