Michaelmas Term – Week 4

I’ve missed much of the lovely sunshine this week having been at the IAPS Heads’ conference at the Celtic Manor. However, the series of lectures and seminars that I attended on the theme of “Tomorrow’s World; Global Citizens” did bring some light and ideas into the two days. The United Nations’ Global Goals for Sustainable Development and the importance of education in tackling both the opportunities and the threats of the AI revolution were discussed and there was a clear message delivered that a the skills employers of the future will be looking for are creativity, critical thinking and problem solving. These are all ideas firmly enshrined in our curricula here in Monmouth Strategies to foster social responsibility and it was such an opportunity to have the chance to reflect on how we can further improve our practice and discuss with fellow Heads from all over the world.
