Lent 2019 Week 9: 8/3/2019

Lent Term – Week 9

Happy International Women’s Day to everyone!

Some of our girls came into school this morning already sporting purple ribbons, to show their support for women and their achievements. Our assembly this morning celebrated the achievements and successes of some of our own young ladies and we were reminded of how far we have come in 200 years, but we all agreed that there is still some way to go. The campaign theme this year focuses on building a gender-balanced world #BalanceforBetter and our girls are the generation that can close the gap. Their achievements on the sports field, performances in a concert or successes in a Maths lesson are all steps to building confidence and knowing that each of them has an important part to play in building a balanced and successful future.

The school should be a little quieter next week with Year 6 heading off to London to visit the Houses of Parliament and Haberdashers’ Hall. I am sure Year 5 will enjoy being head of the school for two days at least! It won’t be long before it is their turn to pack their bags and head off to Naturesbase to enjoy the great outdoors and make some fantastic memories with friends.
