Lent 2018 Week 8: 2/3/2018
Lent Term – Week 8
What an interesting week! The staff of Monmouth School Girls’ Prep were immensely proud of the girls with their Eisteddfod performances and I am sure that parents were too. It is a lovely morning with a variety of offerings and the chance for all to share what they do during school. Miss Sanderson felt the responsibility of her first Eisteddfod and spent much time worrying about the performances but the girls simply took control of their dances and moved us all with what they produced, proving once again that if you give children the chance, they will rise to the occasion and provide endless surprise.
I fought my way through tricky conditions to the Cross Association conference in Coventry and was pleased I had made the effort. It was full of interesting talks and focussed on the importance of looking after the mental wellbeing of the whole school population with very useful suggestions for mindfulness. I put the resilience training into action on the drive back…. although the school is closed, the boarders made full use of the site. You would not believe how much snow is in the inner courtyard but photos next week will show you. We lost Mali in Year 4 for a short while!
