Lent 2019 Week 1: 4/1/2019

Lent Term – Week  1

A warm welcome back to all our pupils and a very Happy New Year to you all! I hope you had a lovely time over the holidays and it is clear to see, now that the girls have got over the shock of the first day back, that they are raring to go and ready to learn. We have an action packed term, as usual, and we will be very soon welcoming the African Children’s Choir to Monmouth where we will join them in singing together for two evenings on the 15th and 16th January. All pupils are involved and we would ask that girls attend both evenings if at all possible. The concert is open to school and the local community and will hopefully raise a good sum for a very worthwhile cause. Girls are encouraged to stay on after school to rehearse with the choir and a hot meal is available, should this option be required. We are looking for host families for the children and their chaperones; this is a great chance to get to know them better and understand a little more of what life on tour is like, so do please offer to help if at all possible.

Exciting news is just in; we have chosen our production for the summer term and will be auditioning for “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” as from next week! Year 6 are invited to express an interest in any of the speaking roles and will be given a script to study for them to prepare. In the usual way, everyone else will have a part to play and we would love to hear from any parents who would like to be involved in costumes, make up and scenery.
