Colours for the QueenJune 16th, 2015
As part of their enrichment this week Year 5 have been preparing flags and banners in celebration of our visit to see the Queen presenting colours to the Royal Welsh.
The girls talked about which flags and crests would best represent the occasion. We looked at the three feathers, the Union Jack and the Welsh dragon. It opened up quite a bit of discussion about which countries were represented in the Union Jack and what alternative designs we could include if we were to re-create a new flag of our own. During our visit to the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, the girls waved their flags and crests proudly. We’re sure the Queen was very impressed!
