Two netball teams at Monmouth School for Girls have finished undefeated in this season’s Wye Valley League.

The school’s first and under-14 teams finished top of their respective divisions but, unfortunately, due to the covid-19 outbreak, the season could not be officially completed because there were still some fixtures outstanding.

The first team had just one match remaining against the school’s under-15 team when the coronavirus outbreak halted the league.

Had this match been completed, it is likely that the Monmouth girls would have been crowned the new Wye Valley League champions.

The school’s under-14 team completed its matches and, due to a superior points difference, could not be caught by any other team in the division.

“Well done to all the girls for their hard work on and off the court and for a fantastic netball season,” said PE teacher, Mrs Sian Morgan, who coaches the teams at Monmouth School for Girls.
