Olivia, a harpist, finished runner-up in the online Eisteddfod

Talented harpist, Olivia, has finished runner-up in a virtual music competition involving students from across South Wales.

Olivia, a Year 8 pupil at Monmouth School for Girls, won the Year 7 to Year 13 harp section and was second overall in the whole competition.

The Online Eisteddfod was organised by Glamorgan Music School and actor Brian Blessed OBE read out the list of overall winners.

Olivia dazzled with John Parry’s – Sonata 1.

Year 8 pupil, Emily, was a finalist in the vocal section with I Could Have Danced All Night from the musical, My Fair Lady.

Politician Jane Hutt MS, The Lord Mayor of Cardiff, Cllr Rod McKerlich, and Chris Jones Founder of SW20 Radio, were the judges for the competition.

Glamorgan Music School was set up in 2020 by music teachers Caroline Venter and Kathryn Kuczynski.
