A dedicated swimmer has returned from injury to win a host of titles at the Gloucester County Championships.

Rachel, a Sports Scholar at Monmouth School for Girls, was crowned Junior Girls’ County Champion for the 200m freestyle.

The 14-year-old, who had been out of swimming action with an arm injury, won gold in the under-15s 200m freestyle.

She captured the 100m freestyle junior title and dipped under the 59-second barrier for the first time.

And Rachel was also crowned the 400m freestyle junior champion and took the bronze open title.

Rachel raced to gold in the 200m individual medley, silver in the 50m freestyle and bronze in the 100m butterfly.

The Amateur Swimming Association competition took place in Gloucester.

“I have just come back from a very painful arm injury, so I was very pleased with my results and it’s something on which to build,” said Rachel.
