Success in German Debates 2015

November 23, 2015

Debating is challenging enough in one’s own language, but when asked to compete in a foreign language, in this case German,  you really do have to be on your toes.

This is especially so, when you have absolutely no idea what the questions from the floor will be and you have to grapple, not only with an argument, but also with the language. At Clifton College our Year 11 team (Eloise, Maria and Beatrice) put forward a very solid argument which convinced the adjudicator that social networking is essential.  Our joint HMSG and Monmouth School Sixth Form team (Josephine, Daniel and Michael) was a formidable trio, advancing a winning argument against the motion that violence on the television leads to violent behaviour. We congratulate the teams on their evening of success.
