‘Nothing will come of nothing’
Workshop at the Royal Shakespeare Company
Y13 English students were delighted to take part in a bespoke literature workshop on King Lear last week. The day consisted of close focused analysis of the text and was led by a member of The RSC. Comments from the students were whole-heartedly enthusiastic and appreciative:
“The focus was hugely useful for my interpretation”
“I learned that there is much ambiguity in the play; the exercise challenged our points of view and opened our eyes to different perspectives”
“The physicality of the workshop surprised me – and was great fun!”
“Viewing the play from a 21st century perspective really opened my eyes as to the vision of Shakespeare’s understanding of humanity”
