A teenage sportswoman at Monmouth School for Girls has been selected for a Welsh Netball talent programme.

Fifteen-year-old Anna has been picked for the Welsh Netball Talent Centre at Under-17 level.

Anna, a goal shooter, plays netball for the first team at Monmouth School for Girls in the Wye Valley League, represents South-East Wales and her club, Newport.

The Welsh Netball Talent Centres are designed to identify and develop potential future national squad players.

Anna also plays hockey for the school and represents Gwent.

The Year 10 pupil is a keen lacrosse player who represents the school.
