Monmouth’s one of happiest towns in country

November 26, 2020

Monmouth is one of the happiest towns in the UK, according to a new national survey.

The town has been ranked second in Wales in this year’s Happy at Home Index.

Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools are an integral part of the community with day pupils and hundreds of boarders calling the town their home.

The index is based on 10 happiness factors ranging from how friendly neighbours are and how good the local services are, to the sense of belonging and the quality of nature and green spaces.

More than 21,000 people from across the UK responded to the Rightmove study, now in its ninth year, which has been published this week.

Rightmove’s data property expert Tim Bannister, said:  “Our latest research shows that despite all the challenges that this year has brought, many people have been able to reconnect with their local area and community which has had a positive effect on how they feel about where they live.”
