Inspirational dance highlights relationships and confidence

Creative students at Monmouth School for Girls have used dance to successfully highlight relationships and confidence.

The Year 9 students worked upon the ideas of freedom and movement, and chose the music, costumes and props for the performance in front of the whole school.

The group danced to Aurora’s Half the World Away and the assembly was combined as part of the school’s Confidence for Life (C4L) programme.

“The dance was about bringing two opposites together in harmony to find compromise, a common ground and understanding,” explained Head of Dance, Ms Rhyan Parry.

It was also the Laban Course class’s final assessment piece for their Advanced Level of Achievement Certificate.
