Saturday 7th March saw the annual Malvern St James Invitational Netball Tournament, where HMSG fielded a 1st and 2nd VII.  The initial round comprised of two groups, with the 1st VII finishing top of their group, unbeaten, against teams from Hereford Cathedral, Christ College Brecon, Bedstone, Dean Close and Llandovery College.  The 2nd VII had wins against Hereford Cathedral 2nds and Lucton and drew against Malvern St James 1st team to just miss out on qualifying for the semi-finals.  Their only losses came against Christ College Brecon 1sts, Dean Close 1sts and Llandovery College 1sts.

HMSG 1sts drew Malvern St James in the semi-final and some quick work by Malvern saw them leading 4-2 at half time.  However, a great comeback by HMSG 1sts, and a much calmer second half gave them an 8-4 victory.

The final saw HMSG 1sts meet Hereford Cathedral 1sts, for the second time in the tournament.  Having beaten them in the preliminary round, HMSG were full of confidence and carried this attitude through the whole match.  A fantastic performance by the whole team gave them 13-9 victory and the tournament title.
