HMSG are Wye Valley League Netball Champions

April 30, 2015

photo-2wHMSG 1st VII have taken the Wye Valley League netball title for the second consecutive year, by the narrowest of margins.   Going into the final match, only a victory would guarantee them the title, on goal difference.   A superb display of shooting from captain Holly ensured a 44-24 win over HHMSG 2ndVII, and the title was cemented.

The 2nd VII have secured 4th place, missing out of the top three by just 2 points.  This is by far the highest the team has ever finished and they look forward to trying to reach the top 3 next season.

The season overall has been outstanding, with 3rd place in the National Championships for both the U18 and U16 teams, Malvern St James’ tournament champions as well as South East Wales county champions at both U18 and U16 level.

Captains Holly and Poppy, alongside Emanuella, Olivia, Millie, Becky and Alison have now played their final game and have been outstanding members of the teams.  They have all been county champions on at least two occasions and have played an integral part in netball as they have progressed through the school.  They will be sorely missed!
