Sporty student, Mari, was not able to pick up her GCSE results because she is representing Wales Under-18 girls at the Futures Hockey Cup in St Albans.

However, the Monmouth School for Girls’ pupil was delighted to achieve 10 GCSE grades A*/A -9/8 with a Distinction in Additional Maths.

Mari, who is playing hockey for Celtic Jaguars, is now looking forward to studying Chemistry, Biology and Physics at A level with the aim of reading veterinary medicine at university.
