International students’ fun-packed half-term camp

October 22, 2021

A camp at Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools, for international students who could not travel home during the half-term holidays, is proving a huge success.

Despite not being able to spend time with their families, more than 100 boys and girls are having a fun and action-packed time at the camp, based at Monmouth School for Girls.

Run by the guardian placement agency, Connexcel Ltd, under the auspices of Ms Julie Ann Morse, the students are taking part in a host of fun activities ranging from paintballing to golf, from artwork to cookery, as well as being provided with study support.

Connexcel has held camps for boarding students at Monmouth since the pandemic started and the organisation is flourishing with its expertise in the independent school market.

Ms Morse, from Connexcel, said: “We would like to say a big thank you to our team as well as the schools’ staff members who are working hard during the half-term holidays to help make the camp successful.”

Principal at Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools, Mr James Murphy-O’Connor, said: “Connexcel and Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools have developed an excellent relationship.

“We both share a common desire to support our parents and children. As a family of schools, we are proud to be hosting another successful camp for our international boarding community.”
