Former Royal harpist tours USA ahead of Monmouth concert

Former Royal harpist, Claire Jones, is giving a recital at Monmouth School for Girls on Friday 10th May.

Britain’s best-selling classical harpist, Claire Jones, is touring Canada and the USA ahead of her eagerly-awaited performance in Monmouth next month.

The former Royal harpist is a dynamic musician and will be giving a recital at Monmouth School for Girls on Friday 10th May from 7.30pm.

Claire was the official harpist to His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales, from 2007 to 2011 and toured extensively in many countries.

Claire’s programme for her Monmouth recital will include Spanish Dance no 1, by De Falla; pieces from her latest album called, This Love; Libertango by Piazolla; Ladies in Lavender by Nigel Hess and Toss The Feathers.

She will also be collaborating with Monmouth School for Girls’ choir to perform, Rain Dance, written by her husband, Chris Marshall.

Claire and Chris travel to the USA several times a year with various projects, including concerts, masterclasses and collaborations with music schools.

They went on tour for two weeks with a group of young harpists from the UK last summer and worked with an American music academy to perform a series of six concerts, including venues in Washington DC, New York and Boston.
