Festival-of-Physics-2nwsOn the same day at HMSG’s Food and Photography Festival a minibus full of pupils attended the Festival of Physics, organised by the Southwest Branch of Institute of Physics.  The girls listened to two lectures in the morning on Exoplanets and Nuclear Power by Drs Leinhardt and Price, and in the breaks watched exciting demonstrations and ‘Physics Busking’ by First Year undergraduates from Bristol.  Instant ice-cream, courtesy of liquid nitrogen, went down very well, as did the afternoon visit to Explorer Dome, a large inflatable planetarium.  Lunch was enjoyed in the beautiful, newly landscaped gardens outside Wills Memorial Hall in the sunshine overlooking Clifton.
