Monmouth School for Girls Women’s Forum recently hosted an EqualiTea to celebrate 90 years since the Representation of the People Act 1928, which gave all men and women over 21 the equal right to vote.

The catering department produced an amazing array of delicious cakes, which were enjoyed by students and teachers as they discussed democracy and celebrated the anniversary of a democratic milestone.

Students made thought-provoking and insightful comments as we reflected on the barriers to equality that till exist and how we can break them down. Overall, it was a great event and fantastic to see students and staff engaging in lively discussion (and highly competitive board game playing).
