Congratulations to Year 13 economist, Christy, who was runner up in an essay competition sponsored by Schroders Bank.

The competition has been running for several years now with the view of Schroders promoting a wider link with the Haberdashers’ Schools.

Christy, accompanied by her economics teacher,  attended the prize giving and luncheon at Haberdashers’ Hall, based in the heart of the city, where she collected her £50 cheque.

The essay title, ‘Can fiscal policy restore inflation?  And can it help in Europe today?’,  was  an extremely difficult one,  based on principles not fully covered in A level textbooks.
