Coastal courage in students’ Pembrokeshire adventures

September 23, 2021

Students at Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools enjoyed fun-packed activities and peer bonding during an exciting three-day trip to Pembrokeshire.

A magical moment saw the Year 9 girls and boys surfing next to a bob of seals; something that will live long in the pupils’ memories.

After a Covid-enforced break last year, it was wonderful for the 134 boys and girls to travel to Celtic Camping’s Pwll Caerog Farm near St Davids in west Wales.

The students took part in sea-kayaking from Porthclais together with coasteering, surfing and stand-up paddle boarding from a host of beautiful locations around St Davids and Fishguard.

Some of the students overcame personal fears, while they all rose to challenges, showed resilience, motivation and support for each other during the activities provided by TYF Adventure.

The girls and boys, supported on the trip by staff from Monmouth School for Boys and Monmouth School for Girls, shared memories, beautiful sunsets and made new friends from within their year group.
