G.C.S.E. Food and Nutrition students from Monmouth School for Girls enjoyed a special baking masterclass recently, when they kindly volunteered to bake cakes for 70 people!

Supervised by Mrs Vickers, the pupils turned their hands to creating brownies, scones, cakes and biscuits to feed at least 70 children and adults for the recent Literary Tea Concert as part of Monmouth Literary Festival. Not only was it a good chance to learn some new cooking skills, the event was also a wonderful opportunity for the pupils to experience how baking for a large number of people can be achieved with teamwork and planning.

Mrs Vickers said: “The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to get involved in this amazing event and practice their baking skills.”
