Tuesday 17th June saw the annual presentation evening for the Wye Valley Netball League, held at Monmouth Rugby Club. HMSG picked up awards in every category, with the 1st VII leading the way, collecting the Wye Valley League Cup for winning the league from the twelve participating teams. The U15 team finished their season with a flourish and were awarded the runners’ up trophy in the Plate competition. The final award of the evening was for Player of the League, voted by the umpires during the season. Four players had a strong chance of gaining the award; Megan (Year 11), Holly (Year 12), Nessa (Monmouth Netball Club) and Sereima (Year 10). Out of approximately 150 players who took part in the League, it was Sereima who was awarded this prestigious trophy. She is only the third girl from HMSG, following in the footsteps of former netball captain and Head Girl, Molly Pike and 1st VII player Elana Dimmer, to win this award.
