Saturday 10th June 125th ANNIVERSARY REUNIONA huge group of Old Girls gathered at a special reunion as part of Monmouth School for Girls’ 125th Anniversary celebrations. The ex-pupils enjoyed a tour of the school to see what has changed, shared fond memories and caught up with old friends.

A memorial to Monmouth School for Girls stalwart, Dorothy Moore, who passed away last year, was unveiled by Headmistress, Dr Caroline Pascoe during the reunion. Do-de, as she was affectionately known, will be remembered by generations of pupils as she was Chair of the Old Girls’ Association for decades.

Dr Pascoe said: “Do-de was very much a big part of the school – she ‘was’  Monmouth School for Girls.

“We thought long and hard about how to recognise her contribution. She wasn’t a woman who needed a lot of praise or a big show, but she was nevertheless appreciated. “This memorial has been designed to put here in her memory. As the girls go about their life, they will pass her and remember her.”

Balloons were then sent into the sky in memory of Do-de.
