Free-flowing boys finish runners-up in Solihull

Monmouth School for Boys 1st VII secured five impressive wins as they finished runners-up at Solihull School’s Rugby Sevens.
The Monmouth boys shone in their group matches, achieving comprehensive wins against Warwick (47-10), King’s School Macclesfield (34-7) and Stourport High School (49-5).
Monmouth recorded an emphatic 38-0 victory against Old Swinford Hospital in the Cup quarter-finals.
The boys then stormed to a 41-5 win against Warwick in the semi-finals.
In the Cup final, Monmouth put up a brave display before going down 38-12 to Bromsgrove School.
Mr Paul Morris, Master in Charge of Rugby Coaching at Monmouth School for Boys, said: “It was a fantastic effort from our squad to contest the Cup final, following on from reaching the Cup quarter-finals at Christ College Brecon the previous week.
“The boys played some excellent rugby today and their commitment and effort was outstanding.”
He added: “Congratulations must go to Bromsgrove School on a deserved victory after a very high-quality Cup final.”
