Danceathon rounds off Children in Need fun

November 13, 2020

A lively danceathon rounded off the week’s fund-raising activities at Monmouth Schools Pre-Prep and Nursery.

Headteacher, Mr Matt Wren, pumped out the tunes, specifically requested by the children, as the school’s events in aid of Children in Need came to an energetic finale on Friday 13th November.

Children and staff at Agincourt spent most of the week taking part in exercise as they attempted to munch the miles.

They also took the plunge, swimming a combined tally of 80 miles in the pool, to achieve a total of 560.5 miles.

“Agincourt FM was in full swing on Friday with some amazing tunes in our danceathon which took place in year group bubbles,” said Mr Wren.

“All of us have been amazed by how well the children rose to the challenge of accumulating as many miles as they could in order to raise money for Children in Need.”

Mr Wren added: “Through the wind, rain and tiredness, the children persevered with jollity and the school’s fundraising total has reached more than £350.

“More money is coming in and we also cannot wait to find out the total amount of miles covered.

“We are immensely proud of them all and I am also thankful to our creative team of staff who have been dynamic and inventive in their approach to keep everyone enthused.”
