Creative children will light up Monmouth’s Christmas processionNovember 29th, 2017
Children from Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools will illuminate the town’s Christmas procession on Friday 8th December.
Creative boys, girls and staff have been busy making items for the Lantern Parade.
Starting near the Monnow Bridge at 6.30pm, the children will join other community groups and Father Christmas for the parade of light and colour through Monnow Street.
The Monmouth School Girls’ Prep and Monmouth School Boys’ Prep choirs will be singing on stage outside the Shire Hall.
Cllr Jess Stephens, a chef at Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools, is organising the festive event.
“This is the first time we have introduced lanterns and if it goes well we can make it bigger and better in 2018,” said Miss Stephens.
“There will be carol singing along the procession and also at the Shire Hall, while Christmas stalls will offer late night shopping until 8pm.”
