Sport

Our sports centres provide top quality facilities and coaching for local schools, clubs and associations, encouraging people to participate and compete in sport. Our excellent facilities are also available to hire as part of a broader hire package.

Facilities available to hire by both groups and individuals during evenings, weekends and school holidays include:

Swimming Pools

Swimming pool hire rates from £45 per hour or £58 per hour to include the provision of lifeguards.

The pool at Monmouth School for Boys measures 25m x 13m and has a depth range of 1.2m-3m.  There are six lanes with a viewing gallery and provision for water polo.  This pool also benefits from a sauna and a large 15m pool inflatable available for activities such as birthday parties.

The pool at Monmouth School for Girls measures 25m x 13m and has a depth range of 0.9m-2.5m with six swimming lanes.

Tennis Courts

Grass Pitches

Cricket Nets

Monmouth School for Boys benefits from four indoor cricket nets housed in their Sports Hall together with five outdoor synthetic pitches.

Climbing wall

Measuring 10m x 7m, the indoor climbing wall at Monmouth School for Girls enables participants to become involved in one of the fastest growing sports in the UK and worldwide.  Rock climbing – whether artificial or real – is a fun and challenging activity for both children and adults. Having this indoor facility enables users to experience the activity in a safe environment.  As well as providing the body with obvious physical benefits, learning to climb can also be mentally stimulating, helping to improve cognitive skills.  A great confidence builder, climbing teaches responsibility, risk, safety, trust and communication.

Fitness and Strength & Conditioning Suites

Each school has a Fitness Suite and in addition, Monmouth School for Boys has two fully equipped Strength & Conditioning Suites.

Children’s Parties

The Sports Centre at Monmouth School for Boys has two areas available to hire for children’s parties: the sports hall and the swimming pool (with or without the inflatable).

A typical party consists of fun and games in the sports hall, or just a single sporting activity such as football for an hour. Then into the swimming pool to continue the fun for a further hour; and finally, back into the sports hall for food and refreshments. The Sports Club is happy to supply a Party Leader to organise games and supervision should you require it and of course, a qualified lifeguard (two, if using the inflatable) will be on hand for the pool session.

For your own peace of mind, we recommend that at least two adults are available to supervise the sports hall activities and at least one competent adult is in the water for the pool activity.

You are of course most welcome to arrange any “outside” professional entertainment such as Conjurers, Clowns etc as long as you inform the Sports Club beforehand.
