The Grange has once again hosted the annual chess match between the best junior players of Wales and England. The Wales U10 Boys’ team took on the best of England on the Saturday.

The team included four boys from The Grange, with Dylan being the top performer, winning both his games. England won by 15 points to 5. The Wales U12 & U14 Squads took on South-East England on the Saturday & South-West England on the Sunday. Wales lost by 20 ½ to 3 ½ on the Saturday but scored a notable 14 ½ to 9 ½ point victory on the Sunday, with Jack winning both his games.

It is a privilege to host this elite event when over a hundred top juniors and their families converge on Monmouth for a match that is always played in the friendliest of spirits.
