Seven Planets and a Cosmic Rock show

July 3, 2015

Budding musicians showcased their extraordinary talents at The Grange Summer Concert, with the whole school performing at The Blake Theatre on Monday.

Taking inspiration from the BBC 10 Pieces initiative, which aims to make children familiar with at least 10 works of classical music, The Grange’s memorable programme entertained and delighted a packed audience.

Nobody could doubt the enthusiasm and musical ability of the boys, who sang and played under the inspiring baton of Joseph Walton, choir director and music teacher at the School.

Videos of pupils introducing the music were shown on a big screen, which added a new twist to the concert.

As well as a superb dance routine, there was a flawless rendition of Mozart’s Horn Concerto, 3rd Movement, by the Grange Orchestra.

The School’s choir impressed with extremely animated performances and the whole school rounded the show off by singing Seven Planets and a Cosmic Rock by Tom Cunningham.
