PII Trip to Humble By Nature

October 9, 2015

Humble by nature visitThe boys in Prep II enjoyed a fun packed visit to Humble Farm on Tuesday, to complement their studies in geography. As well as getting lot of hands-on farming experience, the boys enjoyed a bushcraft experience. In doing this, teams competed to make the best shelters out of materials that they gathered in the woodland. Back on the farm, the boys learned how food gets from the field to our plates and, whilst doing so, they made their own butter and ground grain to make flour. Following on from this the boys enjoyed a tour of the farm, where they had the important jobs of feeding the goats and the pigs and collecting the eggs for the farmer. We even squeezed in a little play on the adventure playgound. It was, in the words of George, ‘an amazing day’.
