The Grange Orchestra gave a fine performance at the Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools’ String Orchestras concert at the Savoy Theatre, Monmouth, in spite of Prep II boys not being available as they were on their residential trip.

The Orchestra played Senua Dedende (traditional Ghanaian), The Wreck of Sloop John B and Mango Walking (both traditional Caribbean). It was great to see string players from across the schools perform so well. Despite there only having been 15 minutes joint rehearsal for the finale, ‘Fiddles on the Tyne’, featuring the entire company, it was clearly much enjoyed by the players and, if the rapturous applause was anything to go by, by the audience too!
