A Note from the Head of Monmouth School Boys’ Prep
I certainly got to enjoy a treat on Tuesday morning when I accompanied the PIV boys on a visit to the Pontypool Museum to see a spectacular exhibition charting the evolution of video games and games consoles from their original invention in 1972. For those parents who are approximately my age – no spoilers here – you would likely have been able to chart your own childhood/wastedteenage years through the narrative history of SEGA, PlayStation and Nintendo! We were all fascinated by the technological and scientific advances in a (relatively) short space of time and what was a walk down memory lane for the teachers was a step in to the history books for the boys. It transpires, however, that I can still teach them a thing or two about how to play Tomb Raider!
