Michaelmas 2019

13 December 2019

A Note from the Head of Monmouth School Boys’ Prep

The joy of working at a prep school is that one never grows out of that festive excitement and buzz in the run up to Christmas. Sometimes, through all the hard work, poor weather, illness and stressful organisation of events we can lose the magic of Christmas but I am pleased to say that this has not happened to me this year. For me, the joy and beauty of the advent period truly kicked in on Wednesday evening at our Carol Service. When the brass instruments played, and the choir sang their glorious descants I felt that Christmas had really arrived and the true meaning of the events 2000 years ago were being celebrated through music, readings and prayers. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and I look forward to seeing you all safe and well in January.
