Lent 2018

9 February 2018

A note from the Head of Monmouth School Boys’ Prep

The first signs of spring are appearing and we have made it to February half-term, which this year includes Pancake Day, Valentine’s Day, Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday – significant steps as we march forward through the academic year. I would like to wish you all a happy, restful and safe half-term break wherever and with whomever you may be spending it. I would like to wish Dylan P in Prep IV every success with his part in the Welsh National Opera’s performance of Tosca which premieres tonight at the Millennium Centre. I will leave you with my personal highlight of the week (possibly the year) when, accompanying the boys back from Chapel on Tuesday morning, Gabriel B announced “Look – Otters!” and, indeed, there were otters swimming in the Wye just under the bridge. Remarkable to see such wildlife thriving in the centre of Monmouth, and the first time I have personally witnessed them in the wild. Thank you, Gabriel!
