New teacher has strong links with Monmouth

A new teacher, with a strong identity to the area, has joined Monmouth School Boys’ Prep.

Mr Kieran Fradd, who grew up in Newport and attended Rougemont School, is the form tutor to Prep IVHF.

He will also teach the English and History lessons delivered by Mr David Hayden, who left the school at Christmas.

Mr Fradd has arrived in Monmouth after completing his NQT training at The Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ Prep School.

He took his PGCE course in Primary School teaching, with a special focus on science, at Bath Spa University and holds a degree in Countryside Management from Aberystwyth University.

“I am looking forward to my role at Monmouth School Boys’ Prep,” said Mr Fradd.

“I grew up in the area, have a strong affinity to South Wales, and I am delighted to be back.”

Headteacher at Monmouth School Boys’ Prep, Mr Neil Shaw, said Mr Fradd joined his new form and followed their lessons for a day before Christmas to get to know his pupils and colleagues.

“We are delighted that Mr Fradd has joined us a permanent member of staff,” said Mr Shaw.

“He is busy at the moment with intense General Entry preparation for the Prep IV boys moving up to Monmouth School for Boys.”

Mr Shaw added: “We said farewell to a long serving member of staff, Mr Hayden, at the end of last term. We offer our thanks to Mr Hayden for his years of service and give our best wishes for the future.”
