The boys in Prep II enjoyed their visit to Humble Farm, where they saw a variety of livestock. Particular favourites were the goats and the pigs. The boys enjoyed feeding the pigs apples!

Whilst doing this, they learned a number of interesting pig related facts: a pig’s pregnancy lasts for 3 months, 3 weeks and 3 days; also the piglets are born blind and have to feel their way to their mother in order to feed – she has no maternal instincts!

The boys also enjoyed looking at the hydroponics greenhouse at the farm, where they use waste water from the fish to aid the growth of their plants.
