We’ve done it again! Celebrations all round as we won the ECF National Schools Under 11s Regional Trophy thus qualifying for the finals of the National Schools’ Chess Championships 2015 to be held in Uppingham in July. This confirms our place again this year as one of the top schools for chess in Britain! The top two teams qualified – amazingly the B team missed it by just a squeak coming 3rd. Another event, also held at The Grange, was a qualifier for the Welsh Junior Championships and no fewer than 5 boys got through. Finally we took two teams of 10 to a mammoth event at Cardiff City football stadium, where 46 schools competed. The Grange A came 2nd & the B team 8th. Fantastic achievements all round: many congratulations indeed to all concerned!
