Brave boys eat fish eyes to swell mental health funds

June 7, 2019

A group of intrepid friends jumped off waterfalls, built shelters and ate fish eyes to raise money for the YoungMinds charity.

Head Boy, Seb, organised the adrenaline-filled trip to the Bear Grylls Survival Academy which raised £3,000.

Seb has led a fabulous campaign since September to increase awareness among his peers of mental health and has raised over £8,000 for YoungMinds.

Seb was joined in the Brecon Beacons by friends Alfie, Ollie, Sammy, Osian, Griff, Rudy, Nick, Rupert and Freddie.

All the boys, supported by a relative, gave their all throughout the exciting weekend and tackled the White Water Survival Course with courage and enthusiasm.

A YoungMinds spokesman said: “We are so appreciative of all Seb’s support – the money he and his friends have raised will go a long way in helping us fight for a future where all young minds are supported and empowered, whatever the challenges.”
